Welcome to the Information Security Group (ISG)

The field of Information Security has grown rapidly in recent years, and so too has our department. In 1992, we launched our flagship MSc Information Security degree - the first of its kind in the world. Since then, we've welcomed over 4,000 students from more than 100 countries, together forming a global network of highly sought-after graduates in a wide range of sectors. 

Royal Holloway has received a Gold award recognising excellence in Cyber Security education and good practice from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Our MSc has full NCSC certified status.

Royal Holloway has been recognised as a UK Government Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR). Our department is at the forefront in the development of highly secure communications and computer systems and offers independent expertise in a field where trust and integrity are paramount.

Our research profile takes advantage of the group's interdisciplinary nature to tackle major challenges in many different areas of information security.
