The Classics department invites expressions of interest in the 2023-24 ECR Leverhulme Fellowship scheme.
The Department of Classics, Royal Holloway welcomes expressions of interest in application for Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellowships to be held in the Department or the School of Humanities.
The Expressions of Interest will be assessed by the School of Humanities with a view to identifying applications to develop.
The initial documentation should be submitted to Richard Alston (Research Lead, Classics) by noon 13th December and should consist of:
- 600 words covering research question and context; materials; approach; an indication of structure on ONE PAGE.
- ONE PAGE CV
To be successful, applications should have a strong match with research interests in the Department and, for interdisciplinary applications, the School. Applicants are encouraged to check the research interests and directions of the Department at https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/research-and-teaching/departments-and-schools/classics/research/.
With that in mind, applicants are encouraged to seek informal preliminary support through either existing academic contacts in the Department or by writing to Richard Alston for advice and introductions. The Department welcomes cross-disciplinary projects and when appropriate will seek supporting academic guidance from other disciplinary areas.
The Department particularly welcomes applications from persons identifying with structurally and historically disadvantaged groups.
