The department strikes, parries, and ripostes in Winter 2022 with multiple new publications!
Prof. Jari Pakkanen (RHUL) and Prof. Ann Brysbaert (Leiden) kicked off the year with the publication of an open-source edited volume - 'Building BIG – Constructing Economies: from design to long-term impact of large-scale building projects’.
As joint-editors, Dr. Erica Rowan (RHUL), Prof. Shanti Morell-Hart (McMaster), and Dr. Shinya Shoda (East Anglia) published an introduction article for the international refereed journal, ‘Archaeology of Food and Foodways’ (Equinox). Keep track of upcoming Food and Foodways publications through their Facebook page.
RHUL's Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, Dr. Sam Agbamu also published 'Smash the thing: William Kentridge, classical antiquity, and his Refusal of Time in O Sentimental Machine' (Classical Receptions Journal).
Finally, a fantastic article by Prof. Richard Alston (RHUL), 'Challenging the whiteness of classics – remembering the Black Romans’ (The Conversation), popped any bubbles of Roman 'Whiteness' in antiquity.
