The SCUBA Prize is awarded annually for outstanding achievements in research in scuba diving
Professor Dan Bosence, alongside the Isle of Purbeck Sub-Aqua Club, was presented the award by HRH Duke of Cambridge at a ceremony in Kensington Palace.
The project, 'Bumps in the Bay' saw collaborative research between Royal Holloway and the Sub-Aqua Club to investigate large underwater circular structures identified by underwater sonar surveys. The Sub-Aqua Club were able to obtain 32 samples from the 7 sites, which were then analysed by Professor Bosence.
The most likely hypothesis is that these are Tufa Mounds!
