The Centre for the Economics of the Household (EcHo) at Royal Holloway and the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary are organizing a workshop on the Political Economy of Conflict. The conference will be hosted by both Schools on September 14-15, 2022.
We invite submissions from interested researchers on a broad range of topics related to conflict, including (but not limited to): civil conflict, conflict resolution, crime and gang-related violence, protests and social movements, forced displacement, insurgency, and long-run consequences of violence. We accept both full-length papers and extended abstracts for projects at an advanced stage.
We strongly encourage submissions from other fields than Economics and from junior researchers (PhD students included).
Keynote speaker: Mathieu Couttenier (Lyon) and Noam Yuchtman (LSE)
Scientific committee: Arnaud Chevalier (Royal Holloway), Felipe González (Queen Mary), and Inês Vilela (Royal Holloway).
Funding: We can cover travel and hotel accommodation for a limited number of presenters. However, funding is limited, and we encourage participants who have research funds available to use their own funds so that resources can be channeled to junior participants.
How to Apply Submissions must be received until July 22, 2022. We aim to notify successful applicants by July 31, 2022. To submit a paper please complete the form at this link: https://forms.gle/ne8SfSefMXwXbTyh7.
