Year 1 and 2 Electronic Engineering students presented their projects to a panel of 'Dragons' - our industry and academic experts for the department's annual Dragons' Den contest at Royal Holloway.
Finally, the day arrived!
Year 1 and 2 Electronic Engineering students had been working for several weeks. They were tasked to create a battery-powered Festive Decoration (Year 1) and an Autonomous Car (Year 2). If the expectations for Year 1 were to create something interesting for a festive celebration and look like a product, the requirements for Year 2 projects were a bit more specific: build a car to navigate between buildings, Stop, Send SOS message, Cross the finish line! Fastest wins!
So... the students designed, 3-D printed, laser cut, glued, built electronic circuits, programmed microcontrollers and finally, demonstrated and defended their work.
Not all of them were awarded with prizes, but every single student has developed their team working, electronic circuit design and programming skills, and had fun in the process!
Congratulations to you all!
