A charity auction organised to mark the recent publication of Landscapes of Detectorists—co-edited by Dr Innes M. Keighren and Dr Joanne Norcup (University of Warwick)—has raised more than £1,000 for conservation charities.
The auction of Detectorists goodies, whose two lots included a limited-edition lino print donated by the programme’s writer-director Mackenzie Crook, a copy of the book signed by Mackenzie Crook and Adam Tandy (the programme’s producer), and a Roman coin, raised £561 for the Bat Conservation Trust and £535 for Trees for Cities. Dr Innes M. Keighren said “Thanks to the generosity of the winning bidders, we have been able to support two charities whose important work will doubtless be close to the hearts of many fans of Detectorists”.
