The British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grants stand as one of the Academy’s highest profile programmes with awards made to academics working at around 100 Institutions around the UK.
Dr Mohammad Sabuj (Lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London) and Dr Simon Behrman (Associate Professor of Law, University of Warwick) have been awarded the British Academy 2020-21 Small Research Grants to undertake a research project on the ‘Statelessness of Rohingya Children and their right to Bangladeshi citizenship’.
The BA provides grants for up to £10,000 in value and tenable for up to 24 months. These grants are provided to cover the cost of the expenses arising from a defined research project. The award of £9,752.00 has been approved over the next two years.
The BA received 790 eligible applications to the 2020-21 Small Research Grants round, which were judged by the Assessors to be of a high standard. The success rate is 19%, so this has been a very competitive round. This speaks highly of the quality of the project submitted by Dr. Sabuj and Dr Behrman.
