Our Criminology and Sociology Undergraduate Courses
The BSc Criminology and Psychology degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society and is jointly delivered with the Department of Psychology. Students learn about crime, criminality, and the criminal justice system alongside the biological, social, clinical and cognitive factors that influence behaviour.
The study of BSc Criminology and Sociology is approached from an interdisciplinary social science perspective. In this programme, students will explore different areas of the Criminal Justice System and debate crime and its causes. Students will also examine a range of social problems and inequalities whilst considering the social forces that affect individuals and impact their behaviour.
The BSc Social Science degree combines a solid theoretical grounding in the social sciences with a strong vocational strand to maximise future career opportunities. This degree enables students to explore contemporary social issues and challenges from a range of perspectives.
The BA Sociology and Philosophy is a joint degree with the Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy. The degree brings the social sciences into conversation with a range of philosophical traditions, and it allows the students to gain a critical understanding of a range of social platforms and policy issues.
