Cecily Beer

Harp

Based in Camberley, Surrey, Cecily has performed all over the world including Europe, The Middle East, Australasia, the French Polynesia and the USA.

She has held the position of Resident Harpist at The Waldorf Hotel, Covent Garden since 2014, and regularly plays a mixture of private events, solo, ensemble, and orchestral engagements. Cecily is also a choral singer, which has resulted in her specialising in music for harp and choir, particularly championing new works written for the combination. She has a particular reputation for her performances of Benjamin Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’ which she performs at least half a dozen times a year, and has been featured on Classic FM. Her record is 12 performances in a season!

During 2023 Cecily collaborated with Malakai Bayoh, finalist of Britain’s Got Talent and star chorister treble, for Classic FM and Universal Music. She also featured in Classic FM’s ‘Carols by Candlelight’ alongside members of the Kanneh-Mason family which was broadcast by Aled Jones on Christmas Eve 2023.

Previous engagements have included performing the Gliére Harp Concerto, Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto and Debussy Danses for Harp and Strings with various ensembles and orchestras in the UK, as well as being guest recitalist for the British Council's 2014 Cultural Season at the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in Kuwait City, in collaboration with the British Embassy of Kuwait.

Over her career Cecily has taken part in many recordings for labels such as Decca Classics, Signum, Ad Fontes and Convivium Records.
