Introductory Talk Invisibilising ‘Race’: Mental Health and Covid-19
Save the date - February 24th @ 4.30pm. Our ever-busy Prof Frank Keating is presenting a short talk on invisibilising ‘Race’: Mental Health and Covid-19 for our social science and social work student community and prospective undergraduates interested in studying BSc Social Science. Prof Keating, an expert in mental health and race, will provide this short lecture to explore the well documented racial inequalities in mental health. He will argue that these issues have been overlooked in the discourse on Covid 19, despite increasing recognition of the impact of the global pandemic on mental health and well-being. There will be opportunities for Q & A. If you’re interested in the interconnections between people’s experiences, behaviours and social contexts and you want to develop your understanding of topical issues such as inequalities, racism and mental health, join this introductory talk from an expert in the fields. Details of online platform & how to attend will be confirmed later. Follow us on @rhulsw for updates.
